B-Sens Busy In The Community This Week

BINGHAMTON, N.Y. - The Binghamton Senators will take advantage of a break in their busy game schedule this week with three player appearances scheduled in the Greater Binghamton area.

Defensemen Drew Fata and Geoff Waugh get the week started with an appearance at Harshaw Primary School at 1 p.m. on Tuesday, Dec. 2. Fata and Waugh will be reading and will take questions from the children. Harshaw Primary School is part of the Chenango Fork School District and is located at 6 Patch Road, Binghamton, NY 13901

The B-Sens will make their annual visit to Family Enrichment Network on Wednesday, Dec. 3 at 1 p.m. Jeff Glass, Denis Hamel, Josh Hennessy, Chaz Johnson and Brian Lee will read to children in support of the Reading Is Fundamental program.

Reading Is Fundamental, Inc. (RIF), founded in 1966, motivates children to read by working with them, their parents, and community members to make reading a fun and beneficial part of everyday life. RIF's highest priority is reaching underserved children from birth to age 8. Through community volunteers in every state and U.S. territory, RIF provides 4.6 million children with 16 million new, free books and literacy resources each year.

Derek Smith and Shawn Weller will appear at Perry Browne Intermediate School on Thursday, Dec. 4 at 2 p.m. Smith and Weller will read to children and take questions. Perry Browne Intermediate School is part of the Norwich City School District and is located at 89 Midland Drive, Norwich, NY 13815.

In addition to these player appearances, Max the Mascot will be in the Johnson City Business and Professional Women's Holiday Parade on Thursday, Dec. 4 at 7 p.m.
