Flames Activate Mike Smith off IR, Assign Jon Gillies to Stockton

Calgary, AB - The Calgary Flames announced today that they have activated goaltender, Mike Smith off the Injured Reserve. In addition, the Flames have terminated the emergency recall status of goaltender, Jon Gillies and have assigned him to the Stockton Heat of the American Hockey League.

Gillies, a native Concord, NH has appeared in seven games between the pipes for the Flames this season. The 24-year-old goaltender posted a 2-2-1 record with the Flames notching a 2.78 GAA and a .904 SV%. Gillies, who has played in 31 games for the Stockton Heat this season, owns a 14-12-2 record with a 2.61 GAA and a .915 SV% in the AHL in 2017/18.
