Five Fond du Lac Dock Spiders Players Selected in MLB Draft

FOND DU LAC, WI - The MLB Draft took place Monday, June 4th through Wednesday, June 6th and five Fond du Lac Dock Spiders players were selected. Four members of the 2017 team including Nick Fortes, Mike Pascoe, Luke Mangieri, & KV Edwards were selected by an MLB club while Jacob Voss, a current Dock Spider and member of the 2018 team, was selected as well.
Nick Fortes, a catcher from Ole Miss, was selected in the 4th round by the Miami Marlins with pick 117 overall. Fortes played in 54 games for the Dock Spiders last summer totaling 59 hits, 2 HR, and 34 RBI while batting .292.
Mike Pascoe, a right-handed pitcher from San Jacinto College-North, was selected in the 24th round by the Toronto Blue Jays with pick 716. Pascoe pitched 14 innings in 11 games for the Dock Spiders during the 2017 season striking out 17 batters while posting a 1.28 ERA.
Luke Mangieri, an infielder/outfielder from Bradley University, was chosen by the Pittsburgh Pirates in the 25th round with pick 744. Mangieri played in 56 games for the Dock Spiders last season totaling 62 hits, 1 HR, and 31 RBI while batting .291.
Jacob Voss, a right-handed pitcher from Creighton University, was selected by the Los Angeles Angels in the 27th round with pick 811. Voss has appeared in 3 games this season pitching a total of 6 1/3 innings. During that time, he has struck out 15 batters, walked none, and currently has a 0.00 ERA.
KV Edwards, an infielder from Cowley County Community College, was chosen by the Tampa Bay Rays in the 36th round with pick 1,080. Edwards played in 30 games for the Dock Spiders last summer totaling 22 hits, 2 HR, and 13 RBI while batting .212.
The Dock Spiders return home this Monday, June 11th with the first All-You-Can-Eat Monday Night of the summer. All tickets are $15 and include AYCE hamburgers, brats, and hot dogs from 5:30PM through the 6th inning.
