(Harrisburg, PA)-Moises Sierra homered in the ninth inning but the Fisher Cats saw a seven-game win streak snapped with a 4-2 loss at Harrisburg on Tuesday night.

Despite the loss, the Fisher Cats completed May with a 23-8 record, the best month in franchise history smashing the previous win mark for a month (19). New Hampshire has a three-game lead in the competitive Eastern Division of the Eastern League.

The Senators (29-20), winners of nine straight games, put together back-to-back hits to produce a run in the bottom of the fifth inning. Bill Rhinehart doubled down the right field line and Archie Gilbert singled down the left field line, scoring Rhinehart, for a 1-0 lead.

That would be the only run allowed by New Hampshire's 22-year old starter Henderson Alvarez. He worked six innings, allowing one run on four hits, walking one and striking out five.

New Hampshire (34-17) tied the game in the top of the eighth inning. Brad Peacock walked the lead-off man Ricardo Nanita. Mark Sobolewski greeted reliever Zech Zinicola with a single to right as Nanita took second. John Tolisano ran for Sobolewski and both he and Nanita moved to third on a successful sacrifice by Callix Crabbe. Darin Mastroianni skied to center allowing Nanita to score the tying run.

Harrisburg moved in front with three unearned runs in the bottom of the eighth inning against Evan Crawford (1-2) and B. J. LaMura, two scoring on a bases loaded fielders choice where the Fisher Cats threw home, but the throw got away putting the Senators up 3-1. They added an RBI sac fly by Derek Norris.

Sierra homered off Harrisburg closer Hassan Pena in the ninth, but Pena was able to finish up his fifth save. It was his eighth home run of the season and extended his hit streak to nine games.

Peacock worked the first seven innings for the Senators, allowing one run on two hits. He walked three and struck out seven.

New Hampshire continues the series in Harrisburg tomorrow night against the Senators (Nationals Double-A). RHP Chad Beck (5-0, 2.86) starts for the Fisher Cats against Harrisburg RHP Erik Arnesen (2-0, 2.05). Game time is 7:00pm and radio coverage on the WGIR Fisher Cats Radio Network with Bob Lipman begins at 6:45pm.

The Fisher Cats will return home on Tuesday, June 7 to open a homestand with the Bowie Baysox at 7:05pm. It will be a CCSNH Reading Challenge Night, Indian Head Athletics Scholar Athlete Night and a Kraft Singles Tuesday where fans can buy one ticket and receive one free with a Kraft wrapper at the box office.
