TONIGHT: The Richmond Flying Squirrels and Bowie Baysox will meet in the opener of a three-game series...For the second straight day, Akron catcher Chun Chen delivered the game-winning hit as he drove in the go-ahead run with a two-out double in the bottom of the eighth inning and the Aeros knocked off the Flying Squirrels 3-2 on Monday afternoon in front of 9,328 fans at Canal Park.

BAD DAY: The Flying Squirrels fell to 4-9 overall during the day with yesterday's loss in Akron...The club also fell to 6-11 in one-run games...Each of Richmond's last three games have been decided by a run...Thirty-four of the team's first 50 games have been decided by three runs or less (14-20).

ERROR ALERT: The Flying Squirrels have committed an error in each of their last eight games, the longest streak of games with an error on the season for the club...Richmond has committed 17 errors over its last eight games including a season-high four errors 5/23 against Erie...The 17 errors have led to seven unearned runs...The Flying Squirrels are tied for fifth in the Eastern League with a .976 fielding percentage and the team has committed 47 errors on the season, third-most in the league...Overall, the club has allowed 29 unearned runs on the season.

WHAT'S THE CATCH: The Akron Aeros stole four bases in five tries against catcher Johnny Monell yesterday...For the season, opponents have stolen 40 bases in 50 tries against Monell, tied for second-most stolen bases against a catcher in the Eastern League...The 25-year-old's .200 percentage throwing out runners is second-lowest in the league among catchers with at least 19 attempts...Richmond's other catcher, Aaron Lowenstein, has throw out 14 of the 19 base runners who have attempted to steal against him...His .757 percentage is the most among catchers with at least 19 attempts...In addition, Flying Squirrels pitchers have picked off 10 runners on base.

MAY IS FOR MATOS: Right-hander Osiris Matos allowed one hit over three scoreless innings Saturday night...In nine appearances this month, the 26-year-old has tossed 18 scoreless innings, limiting opponents to a .133 (8-for-60) batting average against...It is the longest scoreless innings streak by a Richmond pitcher this season...He has struck out 11 batters while walking two over that span and has lowered his ERA from 5.02 to 2.23.

PITCHING IN: The Flying Squirrels pitching staff leads the Eastern League with a 2.81 ERA through 50 games, the only staff with a sub-three ERA...The club ranks second in the league with 404 strikeouts, and the pitching staff has logged a league-high 464 1/3 innings of work.

ON THE ROAD AGAIN AND AGAIN AND AGAIN: The Flying Squirrels are in a stretch where they will play 13 of 16 games on the road...The club is 7-16 on the road, and it is batting .199 (153-for-767) and averaging 2.87 runs per game (66R/23G) in 23 road contests...Richmond just completed a stretch of playing 10 out of 13 games at home...The Flying Squirrels are 17-10 at home and are batting .253 (237-for-938) in 27 games at The Diamond while averaging 4.30 runs per game at home (116R/27G).
