
Fish Make Move for Babineau

Winnipeg Goldeyes manager Rick Forney announced today the club has acquired catcher Ryan Babineau from the Bridgeport Bluefish of the Atlantic League for a player to be named later.
Babineau, 28, hit .250 with 11 RBI in 38 games with Bridgeport this season. He played the last three seasons in the American Association with the Gary SouthShore RailCats, hitting .292 with four home runs and 44 RBI in 84 games last season.
A former farmhand of the Arizona Diamondbacks, Babineau was selected by Arizona in the 17 th round of the 2008 MLB Amateur Draft and played three seasons in their system, all at the Class A level.
The Goldeyes have 21 players on their active roster, including 11 pitchers and 10 position players.
Winnipeg begins a seven-game homestand tonight with the first of four games against the Sioux City Explorers.
