First Round of GBL Playoffs Starts Tuesday at the Nett
September 5, 2010 - Golden Baseball League (GBL)
Chico Outlaws News Release
The Chico Outlaws and manager Garry Templeton will start their quest for a 2010 GBL Championship as they host the Calgary Vipers in games one and two of the first round series.
Tuesday's game is being sponsored by Fox.
Kris Honel (8-3) gets the ball in the game one, a huge assignment for the former number one draft pick of the Chicago White Sox back in 2001.
Calgary is likely to counter with former big leaguer Mac Suzuki as their game one starter.
Chico is hitting .308 this season against Vipers pitching, while the Snakes are at just .284 against the Outlaws pitching staff. Despite that difference, the Vipers lead the season series between the two teams at 5-4, including taking five of six at the Nett.
Game two of the series will be on Wednesday night at 7:05 pm, with the expected pitching matchup to be leftie Mark McLemore for Chico taking on the Snakes' Reggie Rivard.
Tickets are still available for both games at the Nett. Call 345-3210, go online at www.chicooutlaws.com, stop by the office at 313 Walnut Street Suite 110 or come to the box office located at Nettleton Stadium on the day of the game.
Come on out to the Nett and cheer on the Outlaws in the 2010 GBL Playoffs!
