Victoria, B.C. - The Edmonton Capitals and Victoria Seals saved most of their offence for the final inning of Sunday's Golden Baseball League contest, with the Caps scoring three times in the top of the ninth en route to a 6-3 win.

The visitors held a slim 3-1 lead going into the final inning, but a three-run rally put them up 6-1 heading into the bottom half. The Seals didn't go down without a fight, though, scoring two of their own before the Caps eventually finished them off.

Four of the Caps' six runs were driven in by players who weren't typically starters during the majority of the season. Second baseman Alex Chavez and right fielder Kevin House each drove in a pair, with the light-hitting Chavez hitting just his second home run of the campaign. Short stop Enrique Cruz chipped in with two hits and scored a pair of runs.

Five different pitchers saw action for the Caps, as starter Mike Hrynio picked up the win, throwing four innings of shutout ball, giving up just two hits and striking out five Seals. Daryl Arreola, Jesse Oster, Mike Johnson and Chad Blackwell worked the final five innings to finish off the victory.

The 6-3 decision was the Caps' third straight win over the Seals, as they followed up road victories on Friday and Saturday as well. Unfortunately, their 2010 post-season fate was already determined on Friday when they were mathematically eliminated from contention. They wrap up the season on Monday with an afternoon game in Victoria.

The Capitals are Edmonton's first choice for professional baseball and family entertainment. Season seats for 2011 are now available, and individual game tickets will be available next season for just $10 every game. Tickets are available at all Ticketmaster locations, the TELUS Field Box Office during regular business hours, by calling (780) 414-GOAL (4625) or online at capsbaseball.ca.
