First Place Otters Seek Sweep over Washington

(EVANSVILLE, INDIANA) - The first place Evansville Otters (48-30) conclude a three-game weekend series against the first place Washington Wild Things (48-32) on Sunday night.

Evansville is going for their second sweep of the season, first at home.

First pitch is set for 5:05 pm CDT at historic Bosse Field in Evansville, Indiana.

It is Toyota Night at Bosse Field with postgame fireworks.

The game will be broadcast live on WUEV 91.5 FM and WUEV.org . Play by play announcer Mike Radomski and color commentator Bill McKeon will have the call beginning at 4:45 pm CDT.

LHP Zac Fuesser (8-1, 1.63 ERA) will start for Washington and RHP Trevor Walch (5-2, 3.55) will be on the mound for Evansville. Fuesser leads the Frontier League in ERA and Walch has become one of the Otters top starters in the second half of the season.

Evansville is 46-56 all-time against Washington. The Otters won two of three meetings against the Wild Things in July at Bosse Field. This is game sixh of the nine meetings between the two clubs this season.

Evansville has won both games of this series 5-4 on Friday night and 4-3 on Saturday, both on Chris Sweeney walk-off hits. Sweeney ended Friday's game with a ninth inning walk-off home run and Saturday's contest with a come-from-behind 12th inning two-run double.

The Otters had three players in the Frontier League All-Star game on July 16. 3B Shayne Houck started the contest going 2-for-2. Nik Balog pinch hit and played first base, going 0-for-1 with a walk. Josh Allen finished the night 0-for-2 as a defensive replacement and second baseman.

Houck is on a 17 game hitting streak for the Otters. Outfielder John Schultz (11) also has an extended hitting streak as well. Outfielder Chris Elder has hit safely in nine straight games. First baseman Nik Balog is on an 8 game hitting streak.

The Otters are 27-15 at home this season.
