HEY NOW, YOU'RE AN ALL STAR: The South Atlantic League announced its 2018 All-Star roster on Tuesday morning. Columbia has four representatives that will head to Greensboro for the game on June 19.

- RHP Joe Cavallaro

The 22-year-old leads the team with 52.2 innings and is second on the squad in strikeouts (56). He is also fifth in the league with a .198 batting average against.

- LHP David Peterson

Peterson has lasted six innings or more in six of his eight starts. The Mets 2017 first round pick holds the sixth-highest ERA in the league.

- 1B Jeremy Vasquez

Vasquez got off to a sizzling start and reached base in his first 29 games of the season - the longest streak in the league this season and a franchise record.

- C Scott Manea

Manea has thrown out 16 of 26 (61%) base runners this season. He reached base safely in 16 straight games from April 21 to May 12.

ABOUT LAST GAME: The Fireflies dropped their series finale to Rome 5-3 on Sunday afternoon at State Mutual Stadium. Gio Alfonzo smashed his second home run of the season. Wuilmer Becerra also contributed with a pair of hits.

STREAKIN': Outfielder Raphael Gladu extended his franchise-record hit streak to 18 straight games on Saturday. Gladu passed Asheville's Shael Mendoza (17 games, April 17-May 10) for the longest hit streak in the SAL and all of low-A baseball in 2018. Gladu is hitting .384 (25-for-65) during the hit streak.
