Augusta GreenJackets News Release
North Augusta, SC: The Augusta GreenJackets, South Atlantic League affiliate of San Francisco Giants, split a doubleheader on Tuesday with the Greenville Drive.
Game one featured two All-Stars on the mound in Joey Marciano for the GreenJackets and Kutter Crawford for the Drive. The game lived up to the hype as a pitcher's duel ensued. Marciano went six innings, giving up only four hits, while striking out four.
With the game scoreless in the final inning, Logan Baldwin stepped to the plate with a runner on first base and two outs. Baldwin smacked a walk-off home run to right field to give the GreenJackets the 2-0 win. This was the first walk-off home run for the GreenJackets this season and the first ever at SRP Park.
In game two, the Drive controlled most of the ballgame. On the mound for the GreenJackets was Caleb Baragar, who went four innings giving up six hits and four runs.
In the bottom of the third inning, Heliot Ramos doubled to score Logan Baldwin to cut the Drive lead to one. Then with Ramos on at third base, John Riley knocked him in to tie the game. These would be the only two runs the GreenJackets would score as they lost game two of the doubleheader, 5-2.
The GreenJackets will be back in action for game three of the series against the Drive at 7:05pm.
Tomorrow we celebrate nationals runners day along with Big Beers, Brats, and BBQ presented by Maurice's Piggie Park. Then on the 7th, we have Thirsty Thursday presented by the Scene Nightclub, along with our tribute to teachers and Baseball and Chill night! Come join us at SRP Park!
