Manuel Geraldo Named SAL Player of the Month

North Augusta, SC: The Augusta GreenJackets, South Atlantic League affiliate of San Francisco Giants, are proud to announce shortstop Manuel Geraldo was named South Atlantic League player of the month.
In the month of May, Geraldo dazzled both on the field and at the plate. The switch hitter led to South Atlantic League in three different categories in May. His .384 batting average, 38 hits, and 23 runs scored all led the league. Gearldo ranked second in the league with 62 total bases and 20 RBIs. With a slugging percentage of .626 and OPS of 1.040, he ranked third overall in the SAL.
The 21-year-old was a free agent signing by the San Francisco Giants in 2013. Geraldo was born in Azua, Dominican Republic.
Along with this award, Geraldo was also named a 2018 South Atlantic League All-Star. He was previously named to the NWL mid-season All-Star team in 2017 with Salem-Keizer. In 2018, he was also rated the Giants best infield arm in the minor leagues by Baseball America.
