ABOUT LAST GAME: Columbia lost to the Rome Braves on Monday night, 4-1, dropping the first game of the three-game series.

PROTECT YOUR HOUSE: The season series between Columbia and Rome has favored the road team. The Fireflies are 6-0 at State Mutual Stadium, while the Braves are 3-1 at Spirit Communications Park.

SCHAK-ATTACK: Joe Tuschak clubbed his second home run of the season on Monday night. Both of his dingers have been to right field at Spirit Communications Park. Tuschak is hitting .333 over his last six games.

PARTY ON THE HILL: Since returning back home for a seven-game homestand on June 9, the Fireflies pitching staff has been very effective. Columbia pitchers have not allowed more than three earned runs in a game over the last five. The bullpen, in particular, has been most impressive during the five-game stretch. Relievers have allowed just one earned run in 12.1 innings (0.73) and have surrendered just eight hits while striking out 11 batters.

RIBEYE STEAK: Kevin Kaczmarski has turned it around at the plate over the last month. In his first 22 games of the season, the lefty drove in just five runs. But over his last 22 games, Kaczmarski has knocked in 19 runs.
