Final Specialty Jerseys to be Worn this Weekend
April 2, 2015 - ECHL (ECHL)
Idaho Steelheads News Release
Boise, ID (4/2/2015) - The Idaho Steelheads will don their third and final specialty jersey of the season, a black jersey highlighted by multiple colors, this weekend when the team hosts the Colorado Eagles Friday and Saturday night at CenturyLink Arena.
The jerseys, presented by Muscle Pharm, will be auctioned at the games via silent auction on the concourse to raise money for the Jayden DeLuca Foundation. JDF was established in 2008 with the goal of helping children and their families fight cardiac diseases and offer support and encouragement to all those affected by pediatric heart conditions. The foundation looks to promote awareness of cardiac diseases and to aide in further scientific and medical research of pediatric heart conditions.
The Steelheads have helped raise over $500,000 for local charities and non-profit organizations dating back to 1998 by wearing and auctioning special jerseys. One hundred percent of the money raised this weekend will go to the Jayden DeLuca Foundation - the Steelheads don't keep a single penny. It's the third time the Steelheads and JDF have teamed up, last year's auction generated $12,500.
Fans are encouraged to bid on their favorite player's jersey in the breezeway behind Section 113, directly across from the main entrance of CenturyLink Arena. Bidding will close at the start of the third period on Saturday night with the winning bidder having the opportunity to get the jersey directly from the player after the game.
Group outings at a Steelheads game are a great way to gather friends, colleagues, or co-workers for a fun night out in downtown Boise. Ticket prices are discounted and you can get a Pepsi, Double-R Ranch Hot Dog, and bag of chips with each ticket. Contact the Steelheads front office at 208.383.0080 or log on to www.idahosteelheads.com for more information.
