
Komets' Faille Named ECHL Rookie of the Month

Fort Wayne, IN-- The ECHL announced today that Fort Wayne's Eric Faille has been named the CCM ECHL Rookie of the Month for March.
The first-year center scored eight goals and added eight assists for 16 points while posting a +14 in only seven games during the month. Faille was on loan to the Texas Stars of the American Hockey League at the beginning of the month. The Lachine, Quebec native returned to the Fort Wayne lineup March 16 and helped the Komets finish the month going 5-2-0 in the last seven games.
Faille scored at least a point in each of his seven appearances which included four multi-point games. The 25-year-old dished five assists in the Komets' 6-4 win against Missouri March 21 and added four assists in a 7-3 win at Elmira March 25. Twice he logged two-point affairs.
Faille added another two-point game to his totals last night registering a pair of assists in a 4-1 Fort Wayne win over the visiting Evansville IceMen, extending his point streak to 12 games totaling 12 goals, 12 assists and 24 points.
Faille leads Komet rookies with 24 goals and 26 assists in 40 games and ranks seventh among league rookies with 50 points.
Last season Faille completed a four-year college career leading the University of Moncton for the second consecutive season with 24 assists and 39 points and was named to the CIS Second All-Star Team.
Jackals visit Friday, Komets at Indy Saturday -- Friday the Elmira Jackals are in town for an 8pm faceoff at the Coliseum. Saturday the Komets face the North Division rival Fuel at Indy at 7:35pm for the final meeting of the year.
KIDS SEAT FREE Friday -- The Komets present another Kids Seat Free Night Friday when the Elmira Jackals visit, courtesy Aunt Millie's and Parkview Health. Any child under the age of 12 can see the game for free with a full-priced adult ticket purchase.
11th annual Bus Stuff for Community Harvest Food Bank -- The 11th annual CampusLink Bus Stuff to benefit the Community Harvest Food Bank will take place at the final two Komet regular season home games on Wednesday, April 8 and Saturday, April 11 against the Cincinnati Cyclones each night. The Komets are asking fans to donate canned or packaged food to benefit this year's Bus Stuff. Partnering with the Komets again on the Bus Stuff promotion are Citilink, Ivy Tech and IPFW. Community Harvest Food Bank Barrels will be located at the entrance of the arena for Komet fans to drop off their donation as they enter the building.
Komet playoff tickets on sale -- Fort Wayne's first two games of the 2015 ECHL Kelly Cup playoffs opening round will be held at the Allen County War Memorial Coliseum Friday, April 17 at 8pm and Saturday, April 18 at 7:30pm.
