Fife Rejoins Isotopes; Patterson to Join Ogden

Right-handed pitcher Stephen Fife rejoins the Albuquerque Isotopes today, June 1 after being optioned by the Dodgers on May 30. In a corresponding move, right-handed pitcher Red Patterson was sent to Ogden today.

Fife started three games for the Isotopes in 2013. His last outing came on April 15 and he is 1-1 on the year with a 4.61 ERA (7 ER/13.2 IP). He rejoins Albuquerque after being recalled to Los Angeles on April 21. The Boise native started one game for the Dodgers but did not factor into the decision. Overall, Fife is 0-2 in the Major Leagues with a 3.47 ERA (12 ER/31.1 IP) in five starts, all with Los Angeles.

Fife tossed 70 pitches in a rehab start on Tuesday for Single-A Rancho Cucamonga, allowing four runs (three earned) on six hits in 4.0 innings, while walking one and striking out three in a loss. He made his only start for the Dodgers on April 21 at Baltimore before retroactively going on the DL the next day with right shoulder bursitis.

Isotopes reliever Patterson will join Ogden. The 6-foot-2 hurler appeared in 16 games for Albuquerque this season and started two. He went 2-1 with a 5.29 ERA (19 ER/32.1 IP) and has fanned 33 batters. Patterson opened 2013 with the Isotopes.

The Isotopes open a four-game series at home against the Oklahoma City RedHawks tonight at 7:05 PM MDT. Albuquerque will pit southpaw Aaron Laffey (1-2, 6.31) against Oklahoma City's lefty Brett Oberholtzer (3-4, 4.57).
