Fielders Baseball, It's a Gas..Only Cheaper

June 7, 2011 - North American League (NAmL)
Lake County Fielders News Release

Zion, IL- June 7, 2011- The Lake County Fielders minor league baseball team is providing area fans a much needed break from this year's high gas prices. In 2011, the team will sell general admission tickets for less than the price of a gallon of gas.

Every week, the ballclub will set the general admission ticket prices by taking the average gasoline price per gallon in Zion, IL and rounding

down to the nearest dollar. For example, $4.35 per gallon would mean $4.00 per ticket for any GA ticket purchased that week, regardless of when that game is played; $3.95 per gallon would translate into a $3.00 GA ticket, and so on. The Fielders offer 2,000 general admission tickets for sale for every game.

"The high price of gas is affecting everyone, no matter who you are," said Kelly Wells, Fielders' Director of Community Relations, "It shouldn't break the bank to take a family to see the hometown team play, so we're just trying to give our fans a much needed break."

The Fielders are currently in first place in the North Division of the North American League (www.northamericanleague.com), and open their home season on Sunday, July 3rd against the Yuma Scorpions managed by Jose Canseco. Tickets are available by calling the Fielders office at (847) 731-8000 or online at www.fieldersbaseball.com.

The Lake County Fielders are co-owned by Academy Award winner and baseball enthusiast Kevin Costner, and the team is managed by former Milwaukee Brewer infielder and MLB field manager Tim Johnson.
