Vancouver Whitecaps FC News Release
VANCOUVER, BC - Vancouver Whitecaps FC announced on Tuesday that fewer than 1,000 tickets remain for the 40th anniversary match this Saturday, May 3, against San Jose Earthquakes at BC Place - TV: TSN2, RADIO: TEAM 1410, teamradio.ca, MOBILE: bell.ca/mobiletv, ONLINE: TSN GO.
Prorated season tickets remain available and offer significant savings over single match tickets. Act now and receive an exclusive 40th anniversary commemorative scarf, valued at $30, as a free gift from Whitecaps FC and Bell.
"We're really excited about our 40th anniversary match on Saturday," said Whitecaps FC chief operating officer Rachel Lewis. "It's going to be a nostalgic atmosphere at BC Place as we celebrate the proud history of soccer in Vancouver. Tickets remain available, but as always, it's best to get them early to ensure you won't miss out."
It will be Saturday Night Fever at BC Place with fans encouraged to arrive early and dressed in the spirit of the '70s. Forty years after the first match in Whitecaps history against San Jose Earthquakes on May 5, 1974, the 'Caps and Quakes will meet again in Vancouver. To commemorate the event, the inaugural 1974 Whitecaps team will be honoured prior to kickoff. This week Whitecaps FC also launched a Ring of Honour, and Bob Lenarduzzi - club legend and an original member of the 1974 Whitecaps team - will be the first to be inducted prior to Saturday's match.
Whitecaps FC are asking every fan attending Saturday's 40th anniversary event to #BuckUp for Mental Health and donate at least one dollar at the match or donate online at whitecapsfc.com/buckup. Proceeds will directly support Clara's Big Ride Vancouver Community Champion - The Kettle Society - and the Canadian Mental Health Association, BC Division.
Fans can also secure their tickets to Saturday's match by purchasing a 5-Pack - pick any five games that fit your schedule. The next five home matches for Whitecaps FC are this weekend's 40th anniversary match against San Jose Earthquakes, the Amway Canadian Championship semifinals second leg versus Toronto FC, the first Cascadia Cup match of the year against Seattle Sounders FC, a battle with long-time rivals Montreal Impact, and a second match at home versus Seattle. Purchase a 5-Pack today by calling 604.669.9283 ext. 2 or visit whitecapsfc.com/tickets.
It's not too late to participate in the best sporting experience in Vancouver. Whitecaps FC offer a flexible range of ticket products, including prorated season tickets ($276), half-season tickets ($244), 5-packs ($149), student season tickets ($199), and a youth soccer half-season ticket ($100).
