November 18, 2009 - American Hockey League (AHL)
Chicago Wolves News Release
The Chicago Wolves will host their 10th annual Food Drive to benefit the Belvidere Boone County Food Pantry at the next five home games: Sat., Nov. 21; Sun, Nov. 22; Wed., Nov. 25; Fri., Nov. 27; and Sat., Nov. 28th.
For each canned good or non-perishable food item donated, fans will receive one raffle ticket for a chance to win a gift certificate to Cheeseburger in Paradise in Des Plaines.
"We are always so thrilled by the support of our fans for all of our charity drives," said Wolves Vice President of Operations Courtney Mahoney. "This drive is particularly special because we love knowing that our efforts make a big difference for local organizations like the Belividere Boone County Food Pantry."
Last year, the Wolves collected 2,720 pounds of food at four home games, which provided 1,965 meals for those in need. Overall, Wolves fans have helped the team donate nearly 13,000 pounds of food in the last nine years.
