
Bulldogs Can't Handle The Heat In 4-1 Loss

Abbotsford, BC - The Hamilton Bulldogs were defeated by the Abbotsford Heat 4-1 on Tuesday night. David Desharnais scored the only goal for the Bulldogs extending his point streak to three games.
The Heat opened the game's scoring while on the power play at 19:34 of the first period. Staffan Kronwall sent a pass to Jason Jaffray, who one-timed a shot past Hamilton starting goaltender Cedrick Desjardins.
Abbotsford added its second goal at 4:43 of the middle stanza. Matt Pelech received the puck from John Negrin before blasting a shot from the point. While positioned in front of the net, Kris Chucko redirected the puck past Desjardins. Negrin scored at 15:04 to give the Heat a 3-0 lead. Pelech sent a pass to Negrin who hammered a shot along the ice that beat Desjardins through the legs.
Following the goal, Curtis Sanford replaced Desjardins in the Hamilton net.
Cam Cunning scored at 9:58 of the final frame to give Abbotsford a 4-0 lead. Keith Seabrook skated into the Bulldogs' zone before dishing the puck to Cunning, who was positioned in the slot. Cunning proceeded to snap a shot past Sanford.
Desharnais got the 'Dogs on the scoreboard at 12:03 of the final frame while on the power play. Ben Maxwell fired a shot that was saved by Abbotsford starting goaltender Leland Irving. Desharnais whacked away at the loose rebound before the puck bounced past Irving and into the back of the net.
The Bulldogs meet the Heat for their second game in as many nights tomorrow night at 10:30 p.m. EST.
