FC Dallas News Release

FRISCO, Texas - FC Dallas defender Matt Hedges has been named to his second consecutive MLS All-Star Game, the league announced today. Atlanta United head coach Gerardo "Tata" Martino, who will serve as the MLS coach for the 2018 match, included Hedges among his 14 selections for the MLS All-Star roster.

Hedges and the MLS All-Stars will face Italian champions Juventus at Mercedes-Benz Stadium in Atlanta on Wednesday, August 1 (6:30 PM CT | ESPN, UniMás, TSN, TVAS).

The 28-year old defender made his MLS All-Star debut vs. Spanish superpower Real Madrid last season after being named the 2016 MLS Defender of the Year.

Hedges has appeared in all but one match for FC Dallas this season, leading the defense to a 1.13 goals against average and five shutouts. His 191 MLS appearances ranks third in club history behind legends Jason Kreis (247) and Bobby Rhine (212). A member of the U.S. Men's National Team, Hedges has five caps in his international career.

FC Dallas visits Minnesota United FC tonight at 7PM (TXA21, FCDallas.com/Radio in English, 1270AM in Spanish). Dallas' next home match is Wednesday, July 4 against Atlanta United at Toyota Stadium.
