
Ignacio Piatti Selected for the All-Star Game

MONTREAL - Ignacio Piatti has been selected on Friday by head coach Gerardo "Tata" Martino for the 2018 MLS All-Star Game, presented by Target. The event will pit the MLS All-Stars against Juventus on August 1 at 7:30pm EDT at Mercedes-Benz Stadium, in Atlanta (TVA Sports, TSN, ESPN & UniMás).
"I'm very happy to be selected for my third MLS All-Star game," said Piatti. "It's great to be a part of this game and spend time with some of the best players in the league. I would like to thank my teammates because we are a team, and without them I wouldn't be able to go."
Nacho Piatti receives his third consecutive All-Star nomination, after leading the Impact in the first half of the season with eight goals and six assists in 15 starts and 1,334 minutes this season. He is currently tied for first in MLS with three game-winning assists, tied for second with one hat-trick and two multi-goal games, tied for fifth with two penalty kick goals, tied for sixth with eight goals, seventh with 34 fouls suffered and tied for ninth with six assists.
He was named MLS Player of the Week twice, for weeks 10 and 16, and four times to the MLSsoccer.com Team of the Week.
The Impact Most Valuable Player in 2015, 2016 and 2017 reached several personal milestones since the beginning of the season, including 50 career regular season goals, 100 career regular season games and 100 career regular season starts in MLS. He also passed Patrice Bernier with 13 penalty goals, 27 career assists and 11 game-winning assists.
