October 29, 2020 - Major League Soccer (MLS)
FC Cincinnati News Release
CINCINNATI - FC Cincinnati have signed forward Brandon Vazquez to a multi-year contract extension.
"We are pleased to sign Brandon Vazquez to a contract extension," FC Cincinnati General Manager Gerard Nijkamp said. "While still a developing player, Brandon has earned this opportunity by demonstrating his potential throughout this season. We look forward to his continued development within our roster."
"I'm really happy to be able to sign a new contract to continue playing with FC Cincinnati," Vazquez said. "I'm very excited for what the future holds for this club and can't wait to have a chance to play at the new stadium. I haven't had the chance to experience playing in front of fans in Cincinnati, but I am beyond excited for the opportunity to do that at West End Stadium."
Vazquez, 22, has made a career-high 17 appearances, including seven starts, scoring two goals and adding an assist with FC Cincinnati this season. The forward recorded an assist in his first appearance with the Orange and Blue at the New York Red Bulls on March 1. He scored his first FCC goal at New York City FC on Sept. 12 and added a second goal against D.C. United on Oct. 18.
FC Cincinnati will be back in action on Sunday, Nov. 1, when the club travels to Mercedes-Benz Stadium to play Atlanta United FC. Kickoff is set for 7 p.m. ET, and the game will be televised on WSTR 64, carried on the radio on WDJO (99.5 FM, 107.9 FM and 1480 AM), streamed regionally on fccincinnati.com/stream, out of market on ESPN+, while an audio stream will be available at TuneIn (WDJO) and fccincinnati.com.
