FARGO, ND - The Fargo-Moorhead RedHawks defeated the Rockford RiverHawks 10-4 on a chilly Monday evening in front of 2,845 fans at Newman Outdoor Field.
Fargo-Moorhead (22-12) starter Tyler Seaman made his professional debut and picked up the win. Seaman (1-0) tossed six innings, allowing four runs (three earned) on three hits and striking out three. He also showed some jitters in his debut, walking five Rockford hitters.
Carlo Cota and Jake Krause each went 3-for-5 for the RedHawks with Cota picking up a pair of doubles. Fargo-Moorhead first baseman Jesse Hoorelbeke was also 2-for-4 with two RBI and hit his Northern League-leading 14th home run of the season.
Despite collecting only four hits on the night, Rockford (15-20) was able to take advantage of four RedHawks errors and notch four runs.
RiverHawks starting pitcher Brett Durand (4-2) gave up eight runs (six earned) in 3.2 innings of work, striking out three and walking two.
Fargo-Moorhead designated hitter Cory Patton came on to pitch a scoreless ninth inning. The southpaw did not allow a hit and struck out one while touching 90 mph on the radar gun.
