Sadler And Glen Named Player And Pitcher Of The Week

Outfielder Ray Sadler of the Kansas City T-Bones was named Northern League Player of the Week, and Gary SouthShore RailCats pitcher Willie Glen received the Northern League Pitcher of the Week honors for the period ending June 27th, 2010.

Sadler, who becomes the fourth different T-Bones batter to receive the Player of the Week honor in 2010, batted .414 (12-for-29) with two doubles, three home runs, and eight RBI in seven games played during the week. He also scored seven runs and stole four bases in that span. He collected a base hit in all seven games played, including three hits apiece on June 25th and 27th versus Joliet.

The 6-1, 205-pound former Major Leaguer was signed by the Kansas City T-Bones on March 1st, 2010 after playing last year with both the Houston and Tampa Bay organizations. A 10-year veteran, he made his Major League debut with the Pittsburgh Pirates on May 8th, 2005.

The 29-year-old, right-handed hitter was originally drafted by Chicago Cubs in the 30th round of the 1999 amateur draft out of Hill College (Hillsboro, TX). He was later traded to the Pirates in 2005 in exchange for Randall Simon, and also spent time in the Astros and Rays farm systems. In his career, he has over 150 home runs and 140 stolen bases. Sadler is a native of Clifton, TX.
