Springfield Falcons News Release

February 8, 2009 - For the second straight night, the Springfield Falcons held a lead in the third period and had an opportunity for a must needed two points, but instead saw their opponent rally for a victory.

Binghamton's Tomas Kudelka and Josh Hennessy scored third period goals leading the Senators to a 2-1 come-from-behind win over the Falcons on Sunday afternoon at the MassMutual Center.

After 40 minutes of scoreless hockey, the Falcons took a 1-0 lead at 2:07 of the final period when Ryan Potulny scored on the power play, his team-leading 22nd goal of the season.

The matinee started very physical with four separate fights occurring during the first period. Hans Benson and Jeremy Yablonski started the rough stuff, followed by Guillaume Lefebvre and Matt Carkner going toe-to-toe. Colin McDonald next battled Neil Petruic followed by Ryan Stone and Zack Smith dropping the gloves.
