Griffins Recall Brett Peterson

GRAND RAPIDS, Mich. - The Grand Rapids Griffins of the American Hockey League on Sunday recalled defenseman Brett Peterson from the ECHL's Phoenix Roadrunners.

Peterson, 27, has spent the majority of this season with Phoenix, totaling 15 points (3-12-15), a plus-seven rating and 76 penalty minutes in 39 games. The Northborough, Mass., native began the campaign with IHL Flint, contributing one goal and two PIM in two contests.

Signed by the Griffins on Sept. 5, 2008, Peterson is in his fifth pro season. He made his AHL debut in three games with Albany last season and was a member of Boston College's national championship team as a freshman in 2001.

Peterson is expected to make his Griffins debut tonight when they face the Toronto Marlies in a 4 p.m. start at Ricoh Coliseum.
