
Falcons Host Longmeadow and Marlboro at Nest in D-III State Semifinals Tonight

Springfield, Mass. - The Springfield Falcons will host Western Mass. champion Longmeadow and Central Mass. champs Marlboro when the teams face-off in a Division III high school hockey state semifinals match-up tonight at the Springfield Civic Center. Game time is 7:00 p.m.
Longmeadow defeated Westfield by a score of 2-1 at the Civic Center on Saturday evening to claim the Western Massachusetts title. After Westfield had taken a 1-0 lead on a goal by Devin Sullivan 7:40 into the second period, Longmeadow scored back-to-back markers to vault in front. Robert Travers knotted the game at 10:06 of the middle frame before Brian Phillips scored the eventual game-winner 2:34 later. Goaltender Kevin Flanders stopped 17 of 18 shots in the Longmeadow net.
Top-seeded Marlboro blanked No. 2 seed Gardner, 3-0, at the DCU Center in Worcester on Saturday. Marlboro is 21-1-1 this season.
