Amerks send Scott Sheppard back to Bossier-Shreveport

(Rochester, NY)... Rochester Americans General Manager Jody Gage announced today that the Amerks have sent Scott Sheppard back to the Bossier-Shreveport Mudbugs of the Central Hockey League.

Sheppard, 21, signed a professional tryout contract on March 12th with the Amerks. He played in two games with Rochester during his call up. Earlier this season, the right wing attended the Amerks' 2004 training camp.

The Selkirk, Ontario, native began the year with Amerks and recorded three goals and one assist in four preseason contests. After his stint in Rochester he joined the Mudbugs, where he has enjoyed an impressive rookie campaign. He currently ranks third on the team in scoring with 25 goals and 20 assists in 55 games. He also leads Bossier-Shreveport in power play goals with eight and is tied for the team lead in game-winning goals with seven.

The Bossier-Shreveport Mudbugs are the CHL affiliate of the Rochester Americans.
