Defenseman Matt Libby Released From P.T.O.

Syracuse, NY (March 17, 2005) - The Syracuse Crunch announced today that they released defenseman Matt Libby from his professional try-out contract.

Libby, 26, appeared in 10 games with the Crunch this season, recording eight penalty minutes. In 44 games with the Trenton Titans (ECHL) this season, Libby has recorded 3 goals, 19 assists and 42 penalty minutes. A native of Saco, Maine, Libby appeared in 102 career American Hockey League games with Bridgeport, Syracuse, Saint John and Portland, recording 2 goals, 16 assists and 53 penalty minutes.

The Crunch hosts Wilkes-Barre/Scranton on Friday, March 18 at 7:30 p.m. for Empire Vision Centers Poster Night II. Saturday, March 19 is Coca-Cola and POWERADE DVD Night at the Crunch, when Syracuse hosts Rochester at 7:30 p.m. Tickets can be purchased by calling the Crunch office at (315) 473-4444, at the Oncenter Box Office, located on the State Street side of the War Memorial or by calling TicketMaster at (315) 472-0700.
