Pawtucket Red Sox News Release
Stefan Gartrell hit a two run homer in the fifteenth inning to lift the Gwinnett Braves over Pawtucket 4-2 on Thursday afternoon. The game winner came off of Blake Maxwell after neither team scored for 9 innings. The game lasted four hours and 51 minutes. The dormant PawSox offense has scored just 2 runs in the last 32 innings. Pawtucket has dropped three in a row.
The game featured virtually no offense. Pawtucket jumped out to the early 2-0 lead after scoring twice in the second inning. Daniel Nava knocked in a run with a single and Luis Exposito brought one home with a sacrifice. Gwinnett answered with single runs in the fifth and sixth. Wilkin Ramirez homered and Jordan Schafer scored after reaching on an error and coming in on a wild pitch.
The PawSox had ample opportunity leaving the bases loaded in the tenth and the fourteenth.
The Yankees come to town for a four game series that begins on Friday at 7:05 p.m. Brandon Duckworth (4-1) is scheduled to start for the PawSox.
