Bisons Add Fisher, Owen; Mets Recall Fernando Martinez

The Buffalo Bisons today announced that INF MICHAEL FISHER and RHP DYLAN OWEN have been promoted to the Herd. Fisher was with Double-A Binghamton while Owen was with Single-A Brooklyn. Also, Bisons OF FERNANDO MARTINEZ has been recalled by the New York Mets.

The Bisons also announced that RHP TOBI STONER has been taken off the Bisons disabled list and transferred to Single-A St. Lucie.

Fischer, 26, is a switch-hitting infielder who has already made starts at first base, second base and third base with the Binghamton Mets this season. In 23 games, he has hit .281 (25-89) with eight doubles, a triple, three home runs and 12RBI.

Fisher was signed by the Mets as a minor league free agent in 2010. He is making his Triple-A debut with the Bisons.

Owen returns to the Bisons for his second stint with the team this year. The righty was with the Herd from April 11-26. In four games and three starts, Owen is 1-2 with a 4.70ERA in 15.1 innings of work. In his last appearance, Owen threw six shutout innings to defeat Lehigh Valley on April 25.

Martinez was hitting .292 (19-65) with three home runs and seven RBI in 19 games with the Bisons.

Stoner has not pitched for the Bisons since August 8, 2010. He was shutdown on August 12 with a right shoulder impingement syndrome. He was 6-10 with a 5.97ERA in 23 games with the Herd in 2010.
