Battle Creek Battle Jacks News Release

BATTLE CREEK, MI - An impressive debut for Sikes Orvis (Ole Miss) highlighted a 9-5 victory for Battle Creek over the Eau Claire Express.

In the game, Orvis finished 4-5 with two doubles and two runs batted in. The entire Bomber offense was in sync as well, as the team tallied a season high 13 hits.

Defensively, Daniel Rockett made a spectaular over-the-shoulder diving catch with his back to the infield to rob Ty Forney of an extra base hit. Dylan Delaney also made a few sparkling defensive plays at shortstop throughout the game.

On the mound, Kyle Teague (1-1) picked up the victory. The Express got 12 base hits off of Teague, however he battled through five innings before turning it over to the bullpen. The combination of Trey Popp (Michigan State), Alex Tukey, and Pat Borlik finished the game for the Bombsquad. With the win they pull their overall record back to .500.

Next, the team hits the road for five consecutive games. The roadtrip begins tomorrow night in Madison; Caleb Vincent will be the starting pitcher.
