June 12, 2012 - Northwoods League (Northwoods)
Green Bay Rockers News Release
The Bullfrogs earned their first series sweep of the season, defeating Wisconsin Rapids by a score of 9-3 at Joannes Stadium on Tuesday night.
The Rafters got on the board first in the fourth inning. Mike Kelly scored the first run of the ballgame on a Josh Cyr double down the line in right.
The 'Frogs responded in the bottom of the fifth. Caleb Dugas came in to score on a Brooks Orton RBI single and Kyle Sill scored when Nick Stein legged what ended up being a fielder's choice.
In the sixth, the 'Frogs added two more on two Rafter errors. Alex Abrams and Collin Shaw came into score when Jason McMurray legged out an infield single. Ronnie Muck's throw to first base was wide and made its way to the wall in foul territory. Sean Godfrey's throw to second base sailed wide as well, going into left field.
The Rafters added one in the seventh. The 'Frogs responded in the bottom half. Nick Stein hit his second home run of the season, a two run shot to left.
After Wisconsin Rapids added one more in the eighth, the 'Frogs once again responded in the bottom half. Justin Seager broke a 0-9 streak with a double to left-center field, driving in three Bullfrogs runs. This made the score 9-3, the eventual final.
Ben Graff (2-1) got the win for the Rafters. He allowed two runs, only one earned, in five innings of work. Graff got into trouble early, but got a double play to end both the first and the second innings.
He was relieved by Joel Klock, who threw four innings to close out the game. He earned his first save of the season.
Cam Seidl took the loss for the Rafters.
The 'Frogs hit the road for a 5 game road trip in Mequon and Eau Claire. If you cannot make it to the games, head to greenbaybullfrogs.com and click "Bullfrogs Radio" to listen live, or head to northwoodsleague.tv to watch live.
