
Stingers Fall to Duluth, 2-1

DULUTH, Minn. - With one run scored already in the sixth inning, Willmar loaded the bases with one out but a line-drive double play ended the Stingers' rally, and Willmar went on to lose, 2-1, to the Huskies at Wade Stadium Tuesday night.
Duluth (9-5) scored its runs in the third and fifth inning, each time on an RBI single by James Ramsay to score Austin Dubberly. Willmar's (6-8) only run came in the sixth on a sacrifice fly by Max Kuhn (Kentucky), which scored Michael Suchy (Florida Gulf Coast) after he reached on a leadoff walk.
Mitch Rowan (San Francisco) had the team's only multi-hit performance for the second-straight night, going 2-for-4. Rowan now has eight multi-hit games for the season, and he has reached base in all 14 of the Stingers' contests this year. Hunter Dozier (Stephen F. Austin), Kenny Roberts (Alabama) and Steven Brault had the other hits for Willmar.
Richie Navari (0-1) took the loss in his Stingers' debut after allowing only two runs on five hits, striking out four while walking two in five innings. Josh Biggs tossed two scoreless innings of relief, while Andre Wheeler struck out two and did not allow a run in one inning of work.
The Stingers will conclude their five-game road trip with the rubber match against Duluth Wednesday at 7:05 p.m.
