Round Rock Express News Release

(OKLAHOMA CITY, OK) - The Round Rock Express took an early lead over the Oklahoma RedHawks on a Carlos Rivera solo homer in the second inning. But the story of that second inning was what ultimately sank Round Rock when they left the bases loaded.

In fact Round Rock stranded runners in every single inning, leaving runners in scoring position in the second, third, fifth, sixth, seventh and eighth innings. On the afternoon, Express hitters left twelve runners on base. Oklahoma took advantage of back to back two out walks by Wandy Rodriguez in the third inning to put up five runs on five hits to take a commanding 7-1 lead. Oklahoma went on to get a solo homer in the fourth off Rodriguez by 1B Adrian Gonzalez, a two run blast by LF Jason Botts in the sixth and a solo run in the seventh to make it a final of 11-3.

The series and road trip end at 7:05 PM in Oklahoma City on Monday as righthanders Jared Gothreaux and John Hudgins face each other.

The Express return home for a 7:05 PM start on Tuesday, May 10 against Tacoma.
