Nashville Sounds News Release
OMAHA -- Corey Hart and Prince Fielder each homered and Jose Capellan tossed five strong innings to earn his third victory in leading the Nashville Sounds to a 5-4 win over the Omaha Royals on Sunday afternoon at Rosenblatt Stadium in the third game of a four-game series.
The win snapped a season-high three-game losing streak for Nashville (17-14).
Hart belted his first roundtripper of the season off Omaha left-hander Jimmy Gobble, a two-run shot as part of the Sounds' four-run third inning. Fielder smacked a solo shot in the sixth off Royals reliever Justin Huisman, his third longball of the year, to extend his longest hit streak of the season to nine games.
Capellan (3-1) allowed two runs (one earned) over five innings to earn his third win in his last four starts. Chad Paronto tossed a scoreless ninth for the Sounds to become the sixth Nashville reliever to earn a save this season. Gobble (1-3) was tagged with the loss after allowing four runs in his five frames.
The teams wrap up the four-game set with an 11:00 a.m. matinee on Monday morning. Right-hander Ben Hendrickson will make the start for Nashville.
