WINDSOR, ON - The Windsor Express won their fifth straight game in a 94-83 effort over the Montreal Jazz at the WFCU Centre tonight.

In a game that was closely contested in almost every statistical category, it was the support from the Windsor bench that set the home team above the visiting Jazz. The Express bench outscored Montreal 39-7. Windsor also out-rebounded the Jazz 59-46.

Leading scorers for the Express were Mike Helms and Chris Commons with 17 points each.

University of Windsor graduate Greg Surmacz followed his teammates' performance with a double-double, scoring 15 points on the strength of 3-of-6 shooting from three-point range while collecting 10 rebounds.

Darren Duncan rounded out the offense with 11 points, 10 assists and seven rebounds.

Four of the eight Montreal roster players scored in double-figures for the Jazz, whose record falls to league-low 2-32.

The win puts the Express record to 15-16 and sets up a key road game with the league-leading London Lightning on Thursday, Feb. 21 at the Budweiser Gardens. The Express started their current win streak with a 99-93 win over the Lightning at the WFCU Centre, Jan. 27. The Express are responsible for two of their four losses this season.

The next home game for the Express will be Saturday, Feb. 23 against the Moncton Miracles at 7pm.
