Mill Rats Elite is a partner of the Mill Rats Basketball Academy (MRBA), a division of the Saint John Mill Rats. It is a program that is designed to help student-athletes in both academic and athletic endeavours, from elementary school level all the way to college. It is a program that instills discipline, character, and responsibility in young people by using basketball as a conduit.

The program looks to make a strong positive impact on both youth throughout Saint John, as well as from surrounding towns, such as Rothesay, Quispamsis, Hampton, Grand-Bay-Westfield, and throughout the Province. The program is designed to help train children to be the best athletes and citizens they can be, both on and off the playing field. It also strives to bring together youth from different ethnic, cultural and socioeconomic backgrounds through a common love for the game of basketball.
