Sioux City Explorers News Release

Wichita, KS.....The Sioux City Explorers lost their eighth straight Tuesday at Lawrence-Dumont Stadium 4-2 to the Wichita Wingnuts.

The eight straight losses is the longest losing streak of the season for the Explorers, who also lost for the eighth time this season to Wichita.

The Explorers got off to a good start scoring two runs in the top of the first inning. Dustin Jones led off the game with a double, the first of his three hits in the game. With one out, Landon Camp drove Jones home with a single and Camp then scored on a double by Justin Nelson to give the X's a 2-0 lead.

However, the lead didn't last long as Wichita tied the game at 2-2 in the bottom of the first inning. Greg Porter was credited with a RBI on an infield out. Dustan Mohr followed with a solo home run to tie the game.

Wichita took the lead in the third inning on a RBI single by Porter and added an insurance run in the fifth on another RBI single by Porter. Porter drove in three of the four Wichita runs in the game.

The Wingnuts, the first half American Association North champions, won their ninth straight game.

The Explorers will be trying to snap the losing streak against Wichita Wednesday night at 7:05 with a single game.
