Everett Silvertips Elite Name Rick Ellison Head Coach of U15 Program

EVERETT, Wash. - The Everett Silvertips Elite and general manager Scott Brihn announced today that Rick Ellison has been named head coach of the new Silvertips U15 program. Ellison will oversee day-to-day team operations and work with the Silvertips Elite program to pursue player promotion and advancement, and develop the growth of the Silvertips Elite program and Everett Youth Hockey.

"Rick is a monumental addition to our program and it's an extremely exciting day to welcome him to downtown Everett," said Brihn. "His history of success with enrollment, a lengthy relationship with Turner Stevenson which dates back to Seattle Junior Hockey, and development for young players across the pacific northwest is virtually unparalleled. He brings a remarkable track record of success to our vision, and we look forward to working with him to reach our goals and ambitions."

Ellison delivers 12 years of experience as Director of Athletics for Seattle Junior Hockey and 14 years with USA Hockey in a variety of roles, including lead instructor for the CEP Coaching Program, scouting assignments for Team USA's National Development Program (Western U.S.), and Pacific District Lead Evaluator.

The native of Comox Valley, British Columbia additionally brings a decade of experience with the Wenatchee Wild (BCHL and NAHL) and Corpus Christi Ice Rays (NAHL) in player identification and scout development roles, and as director of Aspire Hockey where numerous graduates of the program have moved onto play across high tiers of junior hockey in North America, including the Western Hockey League and USHL. Additionally, he has served USHL Central Scouting and in talent identification with Turning Point Sports Management.

Returning to the greater Seattle market, Ellison was also a consultant to the business and political community for Arena Solutions, Seattle where he advised the viability of the National Hockey League in Seattle.

Ellison was a coach and player in Europe and Asia and served as assistant coach for the University of Alaska-Anchorage, additionally lettering for four seasons with the program as a forward 1984-88.
