
Everett Concludes Road Trip Defeating Spokane, 5-2

Spokane, WA - The Everett Silvertips concluded their season long seven game road trip Tuesday night with a victory over the Spokane Chiefs, 5-2. Tuesday night's win gives Everett a 5-1-1 record on their road trip and snapped a five game losing streak against the Chiefs. Kellan Tochkin extends his point streak to seven games with a three point performance (1 Goal, 2 Assists). Shane Harper collected two goals to push his team leading point total to 23. Byron Froese moved his point streak to four games with a goal and an assist Tuesday night while Tyler Maxwell rounded out the scoring for Everett. Thomas Heemskerk collected 25 saves for his seventh win of the season.
Everett got on the board first Tuesday night capitalizing on a two man advantage after Harper snapped a low shot, glove side past Spokane goalie Michael Tadjdeh from the left circle at 12:50. Everett controlled the lead in shots after 20 minutes of play 13-7.
The Silvertips scored again in the second period after a Radko Gudas shot from the left point was tipped in front by Froese past Tadjdeh at 14:37 for the 2-0 lead. Everett gained a three goal lead at 18:06 when a Scott MacDonald pass up the middle to Harper beat a Spokane defender leading to a breakaway going top shelf for the 3-0 lead after two periods of play.
Spokane got their first goal of the night from Mitch Wahl at 2:04 of the third period on the power play. Everett didn't take long to get their goal back when Maxwell dropped the puck in front of the slot for Tochkin who scooped up the puck on his backhand to go up high for his fifth goal of the season at 4:47. Maxwell scored his 10th goal if the year lifting the puck top shelf on the door step at 15:28 on the power play to make the score 5-1. Kyle Beach scored his 15th of the year at 19:01 to make the final score 5-2.
This brings the 'Tips record to 11-5-1-0 with 23 points in 17 games played. The Silvertips head back home for a three game home stand starting this Friday against the Kelowna Rockets at 7:35 pm. Saturday night has the Silvertips taking on local rivals the Seattle Thunderbirds at 7:05 pm. Wednesday night concludes the home stand with a 7:05 pm meeting against the Kamloops Blazers.
