
Everblades receive pair from AHL

ESTERO, FL - Florida Everblades president & general manager Craig Brush along with head coach Gerry Fleming announced today that forwards Vince Bellissimo and Steve Saviano have been reassigned to the club from the Lowell Lock Monsters of the American Hockey League.
Saviano rejoins the Everblades having picked up nine points (6g, 3a) in 25 games during his two stints with the Lock Monsters this season. Saviano's most recent trip to the AHL saw him tally four goals and two assists in nine games. With the Everblades this year, the native of Reading, Mass. has tallied 31 points (10g, 21a) in 17 games, and was recently named the ECHL's Player of the Month for January after scoring 17 points in his eight games with the âBlades.
The 24-year-old began the season with 14 points (5g, 9a) in nine games with the Everblades before receiving his first called up to Lowell on November 22. Last season Saviano made his professional debut with Lowell notching one assist in six games, then finished the '04-'05 campaign by scoring 52 points in 58 games with the Everblades.
Bellissimo makes his second trip to the ECHL this season after skating in 45 games with the Lock Monsters picking up eight goals and adding six assists. The 23-year-old's first stint with the Everblades was a short one, playing just one game on Dec. 14 at Augusta where he picked up a goal and an assist against the Lynx.
The native of Toronto was a 5th round draft pick by the Florida Panthers in 2002 and made his professional debut last year playing in 12 games (3g, 3a) with San Antonio of the AHL. Prior to turning pro, Bellissimo played three years at the collegiate level with Western Michigan University tallying 113 points in 110 games.
The Everblades return to action tonight against the Pensacola Ice Pilots at 8:05 p.m. from the Pensacola Civic Center. Everblades 2005-06 group tickets and individual game tickets are on sale now!
