February 4, 2019 - ECHL (ECHL)
Florida Everblades News Release
ESTERO, Fla. - The Florida Everblades have added defensemen Brenden Miller, Everblades head coach Brad Ralph announced on Monday.
A native of Orangeville, Ontario, Miller brings 112 games of ECHL experience to the 'Blades blue line.
Miller, who stands at 6 feet 1 inch and 209 pounds, has split this season in Sweden and Slovakia. In 25 games with HC Banska Bystrica, he tabbed a goal and three assists. He also suited up in nine games for Tingsryds AIF in Sweden and posted two points on two assists.
Miller started his professional career with the Orlando Solar Bears, playing the bulk of two seasons with Orlando from 2015-17. In his rookie season in 2015-16, Miller tabbed 16 assists and 21 points in 57 games. He followed that up with a 31-point campaign in the 2016-17 season and led Orlando's defensemen with 15 goals that year. Miller also played in two games for the Toronto Marlies in 2016-17, his first career stint in the American Hockey League.
Prior to turning professional, Miller played in 248 career games and posted 129 career points (37g-92a) with the North Bay Battalion of the Ontario Hockey League. He served as an alternate captain in his final season with the Battalion in 2014-15 and tabbed a career-high 55 points that year.
Miller and the Everblades prepare for their first home series against a North Division team this week as they host the Adirondack Thunder in a three-game set that starts on Wednesday.
