Club de Foot Montreal News Release
MONTREAL - Major League Soccer announced Monday that Montreal Impact goalkeeper Evan Bush was named MLS Player of the Week for the ninth week of action.
The Montreal 'keeper earns this honour after posting two clean sheets during his team's 3-0 win over the New England Revolution, on Wednesday, followed by a 1-0 win over the Chicago Fire, on Sunday.
Bush has kept five clean sheets in the Impact's last six games, tying him for first overall league-wide in this category.
The MLS Player of the Week is chosen after every week of play in the regular season through a popular vote and a vote from media representatives. Votes from the North American Soccer Reporters (NASR) make up 75% of the vote, while 25% is attributed to the popular vote.
Along with Bush, centre back Zakaria Diallo, who started both games for the Impact this week, is also featured on the MLS Team of the Week, while head coach Rémi Garde was chosen as the best coach for a second time this season.
