Espinal Activated

Kane County Cougars News Release


GENEVA, IL - The Kane County Cougars, in conjunction with the Kansas City Royals, have announced that infielder Yowill Espinal has been activated from the disabled list, while catcher Jin-Ho Shin has been sent to the Royals' extended spring training complex in Arizona. Today's transaction precedes this evening's doubleheader between the Cougars and Clinton LumberKings in eastern Iowa. First pitch of Game 1 is scheduled for 5 p.m.

Espinal (Non-drafted free agent, 2007) played in 91 games for the Cougars last season, batting .203 while stealing 15 bases. Espinal opened the 2012 season on the disabled list and has yet to appear in game action.
