(Edmonton) – The Edmonton Eskimos have selected UBC offensive lineman Amar Sanghera with their 1st pick (9th overall) and Northwestern fullback Gilles Lezi with their 2nd pick (10th overall) in the 2004 CFL Canadian College Draft.

Sanghera, a stabilizing force on an inexperienced line at UBC was the Esks' first selection. "He's got something that you can't teach and that's good size and speed. We're happy to get him considering our spot in the draft and he's got a great future ahead of him in this league," said Eskimo Defensive Coordinator and Canadian College Draft Coordinator, Greg Marshall.

Lezi, a native of Laval, Quebec will also bring some significant talent to training camp. "He's a fullback that will fit nicely into Danny Maciocia plans for the offence. He's a good blocker who also catches well and he has played at a very high level of competition," added Marshall.
