Alouettes pick two Montreallers in CFL draft

Montreal, April 28, 2004 - The Montreal Alouettes continue to scout the top talent, today, General Manager Jim Popp picked Montreal-born Alain Kashama as the team's number one pick in the 2004 CFL draft.

Kashama played 40 games with the NCAA's powerful Michigan Wolverines. He registered 37 tackles, recorded 11 tackles for loss, six sacks and recovered one fumble. Defensive end Rudy Hage, the Concordia University product and Alouettes fourth round pick was also born in Montreal.

The Alouettes will begin rookie camp on May 20, 2004 in Saint-Jean-sur-Richelieu. The veterans are set to begin training on May 23 and all fans are invited to the Stade du Haut-Richelieu at 10 a.m. for the official opening day of training camp, as the veterans begin training on May 23. The Alouettes will play their first pre-season game in Ottawa on June 3 and host the Renegades at Percival-Molson Stadium on June 9.
