Edmonton, AB - The West Division leading Edmonton Eskimos (12-4-0) host the Winnipeg Blue Bombers (10-6-0) Friday night at Commonwealth Stadium in Edmonton's final regular season home game, with a kickoff at 8:00 pm. Gates will open one half hour earlier at 6:30 pm.
The Esks can clinch first place and host the CFL Western Championship on November 9th with a win Friday night. After dropping the 2003 home opener, Edmonton has won seven straight games at home. It's the first in a back to back series between the two West rivals. They'll close out the regular season next Saturday in Winnipeg. Earlier this season, the Bombers beat Edmonton 14-12 on Canada Day in Winnipeg.
Friday's game marks the kick-off of 630 CHED's Santa's Anonymous campaign. Eskimo fans are asked to bring a new, unwrapped toy to the game or make a cash donation to help Edmonton's less fortunate children this Christmas. The Eskimos will also honour the Canadian Military with a special half-time show that includes a bridge building competition, a colour guard and displays of historic and state of the art military vehicles. Military engineers and Signalers are celebrating their 100th anniversaries this year.
The CFL West Division leading Eskimos are defending the turf at Commonwealth Stadium.
