SALT LAKE CITY (June 17, 2010) - The Pacific Coast League announced today that Salt Lake Bees pitching coach Erik Bennett has been selected to the Pacific Coast League All-Star Field Staff for the 2010 Triple-A All-Star Game. Bennett will serve as pitching coach on the four-man field staff.

The 23rd annual Triple-A All-Star Game is slated for July 14 at Coca-Cola Park, home of the Lehigh Valley IronPigs, in Allentown, Pa. The PCL squad will take on the International League All-Stars at 7 p.m. (EDT) and the game will be broadcast live on MLB Network.

This marks Bennett's first selection on an All-Star field staff and the second selection for a Salt Lake pitching coach. Current Minnesota Twins pitching coach Rick Anderson, who was the Salt Lake pitching coach from 1995-2001, served on the PCL's All-Star staff in 2000.

Bennett, a Yreka, Calif. native, was selected by the Angels in the fourth round of the 1989 draft and played professionally for 10 seasons with both the Angels and Minnesota Twins organizations. Bennett pitched 17 games for the Salt Lake Buzz in 1996, owning a 3-1 record. He is currently in his third season with Salt Lake and his 15th season in the Angels organization.

Also named to the PCL field staff is Tacoma Rainiers manager Daren Brown and Memphis Redbirds hitting coach Mark Budaska. Steve Miller, trainer for the New Orleans Zephyrs, will serve as trainer for the PCL All-Stars.
